Robredo Backs Bam Aquino’s Senate Bid, Vows Strong Voice for Bicolanos and the Poor

Former Vice President Leni Robredo showed her support for former Senator Bam Aquino during his campaign stop in Naga City, Camarines Sur on Thursday. Robredo, who is also running for mayor of Naga, emphasized the importance of electing senators who understand and genuinely represent the needs of the Bicol region.

“Pakiusap ko sa inyo, maglagay tayo ng mga siguradong kakampi ng mga taga-Bicol sa Senado kagaya ni Senador Bam Aquino,” she said.
(I am appealing to you, let’s elect an ally of the Bicolanos in the Senate like Senator Bam Aquino.)

Aquino, who is eyeing a Senate comeback in the 2025 elections, shared that his goal is to be a strong and compassionate voice for the everyday Filipino. He said that through his ongoing consultations, he has spoken with various sectors of society who all seek better policies and government support.

“Kausap namin mga magsasaka, mangingisda, estudyante, senior citizen, jeepney drivers, tricycle drivers, at call center agents. Marami sa mga solusyon na hinahanap nila, abot-kamay naman, kailangan lang may nakikinig at may magbubuo ng mga polisiya, programa, at batas na tutugon sa kanilang pangangailangan. Kapag tayo’y makabalik sa Senado, tayo ang magsisilbing boses ng mga walang boses,” Aquino added.
(We have reached out to farmers, fisherfolk, students, senior citizens, jeepney drivers, tricycle drivers, and call center agents. Many of the solutions they need are within reach—we just need someone to listen and craft the right policies, programs, and laws. If we return to the Senate, we will serve as the voice of the voiceless.)

He also pledged to strengthen the implementation of the Free College Law by expanding its coverage and ensuring that students receive enough government support for their basic daily needs—like food, transportation, and school materials.
