A lawmaker has revealed another batch of suspicious names—resembling grocery items—allegedly tied to the questionable use of ₱500 million in confidential funds under Vice President Sara Duterte’s Office of the Vice President (OVP).
House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V dubbed the newly surfaced list as “Team Grocery,” which includes unusual names such as Beverly Claire Pampano, Mico Harina, Patty Ting, Ralph Josh Bacon, and Sala Casim.
“Mukhang listahan po ng mga bibilhin sa palengke o grocery ang mga bagong pangalang nakita natin,” Ortega said in a statement on Sunday, noting that these names do not appear in the Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) records on births, marriages, or deaths.
(These new names look like a shopping list for the market or grocery.)
He then raised the question:
“Kung hindi sila totoong tao, nasaan napunta ang pondo?”
(If these individuals are not real, where did the funds go?)
Just last week, Ortega introduced another set of suspicious names he called “Team Amoy Asim,” which included “Amoy Liu,” “Fernand Amuy,” and “Joug De Asim.”
Previously, he also flagged other questionable names like “Jay Kamote,” “Miggy Mango,” “Dongong Alcala,” “Dodong Bina,” “Dodong Bunal,” “Dodong Darong,” and “Dodong S. Barok.”
“Ang mas nakakalungkot, patuloy itong nadadagdagan. Typo ba ito? Mukhang may effort na talagang mag-imbento ng listahan para pagtakpan kung saan dinala ang pondo,” Ortega remarked.
(What’s more upsetting is that the list keeps growing. Are these just typos? It appears there is a deliberate effort to fabricate names to cover up fund misuse.)
Earlier congressional inquiries revealed discrepancies in documents submitted by both the OVP and the Department of Education—formerly headed by Vice President Duterte—including inconsistencies in dates, missing signatures, and illegible signatories. These findings have sparked deeper concerns about how confidential funds were allocated and used in 2022 and 2023.
In December, a House panel reported that no PSA records existed for a certain “Mary Grace Piattos,” a name repeatedly found in acknowledgment receipts linked to OVP’s confidential expenses. The panel even offered a ₱1 million reward for information that could confirm her identity.
Vice President Duterte has consistently denied any wrongdoing, claiming she never encountered any receipts signed by “Mary Grace Piattos.”
Although she was impeached by the House of Representatives, Duterte maintains that the OVP managed its funds appropriately.
