Tulfo Unveils Medical Assistance Program for Media Workers

To address the limited support available to journalists in the country, ACT-CIS party-list Representative Erwin Tulfo has rolled out a financial assistance program aimed at covering hospitalization expenses for media practitioners and their families. This initiative seeks to alleviate the burden on journalists who often face challenges in securing sufficient benefits, especially when medical needs arise.

Tulfo, himself a journalist, understands the difficulties that media professionals encounter, particularly in dealing with healthcare expenses that their employers may not adequately cover. In response, he has committed to offering financial aid to members of the media sector, including their spouses, children, parents, and siblings. The coverage, depending on the severity of the medical condition, ranges from ₱25,000 to ₱100,000.

The program encompasses a range of hospitals, both public and selected private institutions, throughout the Philippines. Updated list of partner hospitals are the following:

Legitimate NPC members are required to submit necessary documents such as medical abstract, and hospital information where the treatment is being sought to avail themselves of the assistance. For more details, members may contact NPC secretariat or ACT-CIS action center office at #81 Mother Ignacia, Quezon City.

NPC president Leonel “Boying” Abasola expressed gratitude, stating, “The NPC deeply appreciates ACT-CIS Party-List Rep. Erwin Tulfo’s initiative. This project demonstrates his unwavering commitment to supporting our community.”
